This southern section of Baxter State Park shows the Togue Pond Gate entrance and Visitor / Registration Center.

Here rangers check each car and count the number of people before issuing daily passes to the Park, which, at the time of this visit, opened at 6 AM.

From the entrance gate it's a slow, bumpy 20 minute drive on an unimproved dirt road to the Katahdin Stream Campground and the Hunt Trail (red dotted line), which is actually the last section (terminus) of the Appalachain Trail (AT).
